If you have a website then it probably means you are trying to sell goods or services or you are trying to get some form of information out to people. Whatever the reason for
your site you want people to be able to find it. The easiest way to find a website is to use a search engine such as Google or Yahoo. However, just getting your site to show up on a Google or Yahoo search is not enough. You need to have a high ranking on the search engine so that people see your site among the first when searching certain keywords.
One of the keys to getting a website to rank high on a search engine is to have as many links to the site as possible. But not all links are created equal. There are two key factors in judging the quality of the link. The first is the rank of the page the link comes from. Google gives each page a ‘Google Rank’ that is derived from the rankings and number of links to that page. The second is the keyword factor which is an assessment of how related the link is to the subject of the linking page.
